Postcard Quilt - throw size

While I was making a postcard quilt for a customer, I found some triangles in some similar colors but not the ones that I like to use. So I thought I would make an extra postcard quilt using those pieces up. You can hardly tell that I did because there are so many different colors in this pattern already.

I love this gray print from Joann's. The wavy white lines look great with the wavy quilting. It's like they were made for each other!

My favorite shot of the quilt on the couch. Such beautiful colors. I love making this one. Get one for yourself in my etsy shop.

Triple Dot Quilt

This is my new pattern called Triple Dot. It's so fun and modern! It is designed with 3 colors in mind, but you can even use scraps. I chose to use 3 fabrics for each color. The pattern had cutting instructions for 3 fabrics, 9 fabrics, or scraps so you get to choose.

I finally made a pieced quilt back. I haven't done one like this in a while. All one color just seemed to solid for the light colored front. Plus it looks playful just like the front!

This pattern would be perfect for a summer quilt in red, white, and blue. The printed white background gets shown off in this version.

Aqua blue is one of my favorite colors, so I set it off with a black background. Very stricking!

But this navy blue version with the greens is probably my favorite. I would have made this one had I designed it before I sewed up the test quilt. I would sew it up with a textured blue background from Moda's Nantucket Summer fabric line. You can find Triple Dot in my Etsy shop.

Scrappy Queen Quilt

100" x 100"

My scraps have been busting at the seams waiting for me to do something with them. I have been using up the bright fabrics this year in several scrappy quilts (one more is almost finished). But I don't tend to use the brown ones and the duller fabrics so I set out to intentionally use those fabrics. I picked this pattern because it used a ton of pieces. I started to make a throw size quilt, but found that I had enough to make a queen so who not make a big one?

The solid is Kona Windsor. I even found it in a wide back so I wouldn't have to piece it together.  I had thought about using black or gray, but neither one seemed to go with the color in the fabrics.

The sun doesn't ever seem to hit my house at the right angle to get a nice bright photo indoors, but I tried anyway. I think it would look good with some navy shams and a different headboard. Back to work, got lots to do!

Memory Pillows

Recently, my friend asked me to make her family some memory pillows from the shirts of her father-in-law. She gave me 4 flannel shirts and 3 cotton dress shirts to make 12 pillows. She wanted all the flannel together and I was able to make 9 pillows from those 4 shirts. I used the back of the shirts to make the back of the pillow.

I used the 3 cotton shirts to make 3 pillows and used the backs again for the backs of the pillows. These were 12 x 18 pillows.  The pillows were a great way to share when you have a limited amount of shirts. They turned out super cute!
