Blogger's Quilt Festival - Rainbow Bargello

 It's time for the Blogger's Quilt Festival!  I am entering my Rainbow Bargello quilt into the ROYGBIV Quilt Category. This is a twin sized quilt.

It's make from all Kona Cotton solids - 44 different colors.  I quilted it with a gray thread in a meandering pattern.  It has such great texture and vibrant color!

For the back I used a black and white crosshatch that appears gray.  I added a rainbow strip to the back just because I can!  I love to piece my backs even if it is a little more work.

Falling Stars

This quilt is from the new pattern called Falling Stars by Myra of Busy Hands Quilts.  I got to make mine in purples, blues, and green.  I love this color combo!  It came together so fast with the large half square triangles so I spent some extra time on the quilting.

I quilted the squares first and then added the wavy lines about an inch apart.  I used a variegated purple thread that I found on my shelf.  I thought it would look good on the gray squares. Maybe I should have gone with gray?  I don't know. I do love the texture of the quilting.

It's a wonderful pattern to quilt on as you could do so many different things in those solid areas. It works with lots of different colors too.  You can see more options on Myra's blog here.

Baby Pinwheel Quilt

I finished this simple baby quilt this week.  Yellow and Gray is so nice and soothing together, especially for a baby quilt. I cut 2 - 5 inch squares for each pinwheel from each the print and the white to make 4 HSTs.  It has a 2 inch white border and a 2 inch gray border.  I love how the yellow softens the edge while giving it some more color. 

I have 2 more quilts in the works for this month in yellow and gray.  Seems I can't stop using these colors.  But first I am testing a pattern for Myra and it should be out next week.  It's called Falling Stars and I think you're going to like it. Have a great weekend!

August Stash Report

Just a quick post to keep me honest.  I know it doesn't look like it, but I'm trying to use my stash this year!  I think September is going to be much better on my goals than August. I have at least 4 quilts started that will be done this month. Anyway, this post is for me.
