January Stash Report

I made 5 quilts this month!  2 of my quilts were from the pile of 20 Hard To Use Fabrics (HTU). So I am off to a great start with my yearly goal.  While it seems I am not using my stash, most of the fabric I purchased came from a large stack of Kona Cotton I bought with a 20% off coupon at the beginning of the year.  And I have plans to use is it in the coming months!

Fabric In for Jan:  69.75 yards
Fabric Out for Jan: 43.5 yards
Net YTD: 26.25 added

Yearly Goals
2/20 HTU

Love Multiplied

This is a new pattern called Love Multiplied from Myra at Busy Hands Quilts.  I love this quilt!  You can find the pattern here.  I made mine with fabrics from the Connecting Threads line Good Neighbors. Plus I added in a few pieces from my stash.

I gave it a quick meander and added blue binding.  I was a little short on green for the back so I added in some gray and the left over squares.

This quilt is for sale in my shop.

Urban Neighborhoods

56 x 67

This is a free quilt-a-long for the month of January.  You can find it here. I modified the pattern just a little by adding a 1 inch sashing.  I think it really helped freshen up the quilt.

Like always, I used the leftover large pieces on the back.  I changed things up for the binding though by using the leftover strips.  I had to cut a few more to have enough.  I like the color it adds to the front.  Not too much of any of them.

This was my One Monthly Goal for January.  To meet this goal while still working on other things, I made 2 blocks a day unless I had more time.  I had other things that I had started and wanted to get finished.  So by making a plan, I was sure to get finished on time!  I hope you make your goal too!

Country Floral Quilt

62 x 78

A simple yet elegant quilt made with only 2 prints. This is the first of my use the large piece stash goal for the year.  There are only 2 blocks in this quilt:  a square in a square and a 16 patch. This quilt is for sale in my etsy shop.

I managed to maximize the quilt size to use up all of the pink floral fabric and all of the green too.
All the leftovers were used in the back.  I had to cut the binding first to make sure there would be enough.

So that's 10 yards from my stash!  I'm on my way...

Midnight Mystery Quilt

72 x 96

This is my finished Midnight Mystery Quilt from the Meadow Mist Quilt-a-long.  I decided to make it bigger after I finished my original squares.  It only took 3 more full blocks to make this big enough for a twin bed.  It is for sale in my Etsy shop.

There are 4 different purple fabrics, 3 orange, and 3 teal.  A simple overall meander and teal zig zag binding finished this quilt off nicely.

For the back I had a large piece of teal with white flowers.  Just didn't quite have enough for the whole thing!

Thank you Cheryl for hosting an awesome quilt-a-long!

Rainbow Baby Zig Zag Quilt

34 x 39.5

Here's a super cute baby quilt! I've had these zig zag prints sitting in a pile just waiting to be made into a quilt. Actually I tried to put these with some polka dots, but it was way too busy. Since the squares were already cut, I had to use them. To reduce the business, I added the 1 inch sashing.

I didn't have any cute prints in my stash so I put the zig zag on the back too.  But, as you can see above,  the prints weren't straight.  I didn't have that much fabric so I didn't want to straighten them.
It's the back, so it doesn't matter that much right?

Looks better in this picture!

This quilt is for sale in my Etsy shop.

Urban Neighborhoods Sew Along and OMG (no I'm not swearing!)

A free sew-alongThis must be the year of the quilt alongs!  I am doing 2 of them.  This one is Urban Neighborhoods Sew Along and is running this month.  You can participate for free!
I decided to use 12 fat quarters for this quilt. Here are all my pieces cut up.

There are 13 pieces in each block so I picked one of each fabric and one extra for each pile. They are sitting there waiting to be sewn together.

Even though I have several quilts ahead of this one to finish, I plan on getting this done this month. Urban Neighborhoods is my One Month Goal for January.
