Sunshine - Up From Here

60" x 72"

This is a fitting color scheme for the summer we're having! I've been participating in a casual Sew Along with Roseanne at Home Sewn By Us. This is the pattern Up From Here that I have modified from the original.  The original has 24" blocks that I changed to 12" so I could use my 2.5" strips.  I also made it scrappy and changed the block direction on every other row.  The smaller blocks gave me the opportunity to use more variety.

I even went scrappy on the back. I only found two somewhat wild prints in my stash, I wish I had more in these colors. The white strips were added to brighten up the back and to make it a tad bit longer.

I didn't stop with the back, I decided since I had all those 2.5" strips, why not make a scrappy binding too. I was wishing I had done a straight seam, but I think on this quilt it works okay. But in the future, I will use straight seams for scrappy binding!

I do love this quilt, but it goes with nothing in my house. I'm mostly a blue person, with a little green thrown in for good measure.  It was sure a fun pattern to make. Thanks, Roseanne! You bring out the best in my quilting!
