Double 4 Patch

This pattern is called Not so Top Secret from Alycia Quilts

You might think that it is this pattern if you only give a quick look:
quilts

But it's not!  It's this one:

Can you tell the difference?
The one I made is 2 blocks: a 4 patch and a 16 patch.

She has directions for a 5 color option and a fat quarter option on her blog as well.
I chose not to border mine, the size was good without it.

Two More Quilts for the Pile!

An easy rail fence to use up some fishing fabric that you can't see because I take such bad photos of my quilts. But in my defense, it was windy when I took these and I had to delete all the other photos.  I promise to work on my picture taking abilities this year!

And this one started as a plain 4 patch and I was just going to lay it out with diagonal lines, but it looked too plain.  I kept playing with the blocks and came up with this design.  Love it!

My attempt at trying something new for a photo....I'll keep trying!

Come Tour My Sewing Room!

After enjoying a Jasmine's sewing room tour from Quilt Kisses, I decided to take pictures and make one too!  I love looking at how other people arrange and organize their sewing spaces.  It didn't seem right to look and not share.  I made a page at the top of my blog or you can click on this link to my sewing room. Hope you enjoy looking around!  Sneak peek:

Star Light Star Bright Quilt-A-Long

I am so excited to be participating in my very first quilt-a-long!  Melissa from Happy Quilting is hosting the Start Light Star Bright Quilt-A-Long.   It just started today so you have plenty of time to join in the fun! Here's the schedule from her blog:

Jan 15 - Intro, Fabric Requirements, and Prizes Announcement
Jan 29 - Cutting
 Feb 5 - Flying Geese
Feb12 - Half Square Triangles
Feb 19 - Building Block Centers
Feb 26 - Building Block Sides
Mar 5 - Building Block Corners
Mar 12 - Piecing Top and Grand Prize Linky

April 2- Star Light Star Bright Parade and Grand Prize Winners

We have 2 weeks to pick our fabric, but I couldn't wait to get started!  The pace of the quilt along seems slow enough that I should be able to keep up even with homeschooling and the baby.  My husband was joking that I would probably finish tomorrow!  Ha Ha!  The pattern isn't even out yet!  Here's my bright spring fabric choices:

and here's the quilt we will be making:

and here it is with some sample fabrics:

I hope you will hope on over to her blog and join the fun!
