Blue Frog Quilt Pattern

New Pattern Alert! This is the Blue Frog quilt pattern and I am delighted with it! I know it's not that blue and it doesn't look like a frog. Let's face it. Naming quilt patterns is getting more and more challenging. But there is a method to my madness. I had these colors in mind when I designed the quilt. I've been using my solids up this fall and there are these pesky green ones that didn't seem to go with much. So I grabbed all of them and then asked myself what goes with green? Well blue of course! So then I had the blues all audition for the part and this is the resulting cast.

This pattern was so helpful in using both yardage and 2.5" strips. I had a bunch of that in these blues and greens too. I even put the directions in there for fat quarters just to hit everything you might have on hand. So grab what you have and make this quilt!.

I even found two blue greens for the back and put a hard to use green in between them. I tied in the black and white accent fabrics by using a black and white print for the binding.

Back to where the blue frog comes in. I was on the internet one day and I saw a picture of a blue frog. They are beautiful! Why not use that for my pattern name. So then came this blue and black version which reminds me of the blue frog. If I hadn't already had my fabrics picked I would have switched to these.

Both the previous versions use a solid black and a solid white as the accent colors, but I wanted to see what it might look like with a pop of raspberry, also lovely.

For this last version, I used two white prints from the fabric collection for the accent fabrics. It adds just enough interest and breaks up the darker colored pieces.

The Blue Frog Quilt Pattern is in my shop here. Tag me on Instagram when you finish yours. I'd love to see it.
