Luke's Jean Quilt

Finally finished Luke's jean quilt. Still have 5 to go. I don't mind sewing them, but cutting the jeans out seems like it takes forever. So I always choose something else to work on. Luke loves gray so I added some grayish looking jeans to the blue ones and chose a gray minky dot for the back. Note to self: get the non dot minky next time - I like it better. And always use batting! (Just in case I forget.)

Then I had it in my mind that I absolutley had to custom quilt it....but finally talked myself out of it and did an overall meander just so I could get it done. It turned out just fine! And it was so much faster. 

Three kids down and only 5 to go! (And then one for me.)

 

Another Blue and Orange Quilt

I am just loving this blue and orange color theme! These fabrics were actually pulled out first before I started making the Opulence quilt. These sat on the sideline while I made that quilt.

I am running out of backing fabrics, so I had to piece this one. I used to do that a lot, but it's so much easier to just buy 4 yards and make the back. Time to get back to making unique quilt backs. 

 I think there's enough for one more quilt in these beautiful colors. What's your favorite color theme right now? Do you stick to seasonal fabric colors, or are you an all color type person?

Opulence - A Scrappy Throw Sized Quilt

Introducing Opulence, a new throw sized scrappy quilt pattern.  I chose to make one in navy and rusty orange fabrics. The black shows up in a soft tone on my quilt, but you could choose to use a bold black also.

Below is another option which uses 9 colors of scraps instead of just 2. I included some notes in the pattern on how to make this version. 

You could always use multiple colors in place of the two colors (in my quilt that would be blue and orange). You could swap the black for white and have a dark background.

Here's a couple more two color options. I think the blue and red one would be fun for summer and the 4th of July.
