Quilty Hearts Baby Quilt
So glad there was a happy ending to the Thanksgiving day fabric dying fun! Next time I plan on using a full yard so that I won't have to add any fabric to it to make a pillow case.

I Spy Quilt
Since she has conquered sewing rows and columns, she is now working on sewing easy blocks together for a scrap quilt. We'll make a few quilts with simple blocks to make sure her seams are still lining up and then hopefully we'll move on to half square triangles.

Kookie Kisses Pattern Release
This fun quilt was inspired by my youngest child. She has been wanting a quilt for her bed and I had her pick out her favorite colors from the Kona cotton swatch board I have. She loves the turquoise and the bright pink the best. After we widdled down her pile, this is what we came up with - medium and dark shades of pink, green, turquoise, and purple. It is such a fun color combination! An so here is Kookie Kisses, a pattern named for all the hugs and kisses my daughter loves to share with everyone!
You know that back has to be blue because it's my favorite color. But it needed a little jazzing up so I tried out several of the fabrics and the purple just spoke to me. It's the perfect addition to the quilt!
Speaking of purple, here is what Kookie Kisses looks like in all purple fabrics. This would be a fun one for a purple lover. It would also be cute in all pinks!

Postcard with Gray
I've finished another postcard quilt, this time with gray and all original colors. I thought it would be fun to compare it too the previous one I made with the extra colors. It's the one with the black binding.

Camouflage Quilt
I've been meaning to make a camouflage quilt for a couple years now. I've finally done it! The backing fabric has been hiding in my closet for a while, but I stumbled across it looking for something last month. I have two bolts - one with this reddish color and the other is more tan.
I wanted relatively small pieces to give this quilt the camouflage feel and I think it worked out. The only thing I would change is to add some of the backing fabric to the front. I will be doing that on the next quilt.

Another Postcard Quilt
I was running low on gray prints, but I found this one in my backing bin. It didn't match any of the gray solids I had on hand so I ended up using Kona Pepper. It looks very striking, but not overpowering like black does. One down and one to go!

Scraps with Black and White
It's a one block quilt and there are 30 blocks in the quilt. I started using 9 black and white and 9 color fabrics in each block, but it just seemed like there was too much black and white and not enough color. So I started switching out one or two of the black and white for a colored one in each block.
It was still challenging to layout the blocks with all that black and white, but I persevered and got it done. I love the break of color the black and white provide. It's a fun scrappy quilt for sure! Lot's of scraps still to go!

King Size Rainbow Bargello
Look at this ginormous rainbow of a quilt! It's a king size bargello modified from a pattern by Let's Quilt Something. Sorry to say she has removed her blog completely so the pattern is no longer available. Below is a shot of the texture after the quilt was washed. I quilted an over all meander in a gray thread. It's wonderfully crinkly!
After making this big beautiful quilt, it's finally time for a fall quilting break! It will be a short one though. I have a lot of things planned this week, but then I'll get back to quilting. There's too many quilts to make!

Postcard Pillowcases
This was a fun little project request that I finished up recently. They are 20" pillow covers that were inspired by the Postcard from Sweden quilt. They are similar but not identical.
It's hard to see, but I did an envelop closure and the tops were quilted with the organic wavy lines. I like these smaller projects. But now I'm off to make a king size quilt. No time for chit chat!

Summer of Scraps Wrap Up

Another scrappy quilt...
This one block quilt is made from 8" squares rotated to make the design. It would look great in any color scheme you can come up with but using a print with multiple colors like I did is the easiest way to get started. I even added in some black with gold prints because I was a bit short on the colorful ones. It doesn't even look like I used scraps unless you start counting how many different prints are in this quilt.

Quilty Hearts in Rainbow
Here is a throw size quilty hearts quilt inspired by Myra's twin sized rainbow version. A customer wanted a rainbow quilt in this pattern, so I helped her decide which colors we should use. This size only allows for 6 colors of the rainbow so I suggested we combine the orange and yellow and the pink and red.
She loved Myra's quilting so I had her pick out one of my pantographs to quilt this up for her. This one is called Square Spiral - one of my favorites to quilt.
This is the "after washing" picture which show just how much texture you get from this pattern. I always wash quilts before they leave the house for two reasons. The first and most important - I would hate for a quilt to bleed so I wash with at least 4 color catchers. The second reason is that sometimes people don't realize that the quilt will get all crinkly and shrink once it's washed. This way I can list it at the correct size and the look of it won't change when they wash it.

Another Scrap Snap Quilt
Here's another Scrap Snap Quilt I made as a custom request. This quilt goes through a lot of scraps! I like to use at least 14 different prints in each color so I ended up having to cut some green, orange, and pink. With all the scrappy quilts I have been making, my choices are getting slim.
