Down the Pipe Quilt Pattern

I'm on a roll this month! This is my next pattern called Down the Pipe.  This is a modern quilt that can look masculine or feminine depending on the fabrics that you choose. I chose to use some cross hatch in black, mustard, and aqua. This is the throw size, but the pattern is written in 5 different sizes from baby to king.

I think this fabric does not picture well from far away so I put this one in here for you to see. Cross hatch fabric is some of my current favorites!

This black and yellow version was my original and I just love it! But I didn't have the right fabrics in my stash to make this.

Christmas is still on my mind so I keep going to this color scheme of winter blue and red. Kind of reminds me of downhill skiing. What do you think?

Here is the baby version. It is so cute with those little strawberries! You can find Down the Pipe pattern in my shop.

Knot So Quilt Pattern

This pattern is called Knot So and it is one of my new patterns. There are 2 throw sizes included in this pattern. The one I made is the smaller version. It is a fun and easy quilt to make. Below is the larger throw size.

The baby size has two borders added to it to make it a bit larger. You could add them to any of the quilts, but the directions are only included in this size.

I love this version with a navy background. Makes the medium blue and the gray look like boxes hiding underneath it. Find the Knot So Pattern in my etsy shop. 6 sizes baby to king.

Captain's Log

This is a new pattern called Captain's Log. The design can be changed just by using different fabrics in different places. I had a lot of fun playing around with it. I used 3 prints in this version, but you can also just use 1 or 2 (see ideas below).

I chose the backing fabric before I picked the front fabrics. It is such a pretty print I've had in my stash for a while. So nice to use what I have this year.

I had a hard time choosing which one of these to make. I really loved this Christmas version, but I didn't have the fabric for it. Red and aqua are my Christmas colors this year.

This baby boy version is so cute. It would also look good in some soft pinks with gray for a little girl too. Or maybe in some more modern colors.

This is a 2 fabric version with a background (instead of 3 fabrics). I love the dark background with the teals. Such a striking quilt.

This one is also a two fabric version. I would have made this one, but I thought I should do the three fabric version for the cover quilt.

Just for fun, I did this wintery version with one fabric and a background. The white is the fabric and the blue is the background. This would look great all winter, not just for Christmas!

Which one do you like best? Captain's Log is available in my shop here

Some Postcard Quilts

It has been a crazy month already! Two postcard quilts were ordered pretty much at the same time so we (yep, my family helps make this one) got the blocks made and laid out a couple weeks ago. This first one is a queen size. Our huge polydactyl cat named Rosy was very curious as to what we were doing outside on this very cold day!

The two pillow shams went with the King size quilt below. These are a fun addition to the bed size quilts.  It was way too cold this  morning to get a picture outside of this king size quilt and I forgot to get one yesterday when I finished it. I forgot how big a king size is. It filled my quilting frame to the edges.

Whew, so glad to get that one finished and mailed off. I haven't quilted this much in what seems like forever. I am now ready to take a break and eat some turkey!

Mini HST Wall Quilt

22.5" x 25.5"
So, no judging here please. I am mostly blogging about this so I can remember for next time that I don't want to quilt on the diagonal at least not without some practice. This little quilt is made from half square triangles that finish at 1.5". They were leftover from a quilt I made several years ago and I thought it might be nice to make something for the wall.

I only quilted in the white spots and used some l's and some back and forth. But between the diagonal quilting and the thickness of the HSTs it is so sloppy looking. And a bit puffy in a few spots. At least from a distance you can't tell too much.

By the time I'd done a couple sections, I pretty much gave up on doing it nicely and I was just going for done. I've got two quilts I need to make and this one was loaded on the longarm so it had to be finished - pretty or not.

Note to self - let's not do little triangles! And for goodness sake, don't try to custom quilt it when you  are in a hurry!
