Kids Art Work Quilt and a Late Christmas Quilt

Isn't this just the cutest quilt?  All these faces were hand drawn by a class of kids in Seattle. This quilt is for an auction to raise money for their school. Their teacher scanned their drawings and printed them on to fabric. She had a mom in her class embroider the logo and the quote. I put the quilt together for her.

This is another customer quilt I made for a nice lady from the east coast. She said it was a late Christmas gift for her mother because she got snowed in. This should definitely make up for not coming to see her!  She sent me the fabric for the quilt and I used my Accuquilt Go! to make cut the HSTs.  The pattern is called Broken Dishes and you can find the free tutorial here.

Pattern Writing

I have some exciting news to share!  I have just written a pattern for the Minecraft Sampler Quilt.  Email me for the pdf pattern. $10.99  It all started with someone asking me about a different pattern a few weeks ago. I said something to Myra, who is an excellent pattern writer, and she encouraged me to get started. I actually have that pattern almost done. She then suggested I write up a pattern for the Minecraft Quilt I have been making for a while now. What a great idea!

The pattern includes four size options: Lap, Twin, Full, and Queen.  It has easy to follow instructions complete with detailed charts for each block.

There are 28 blocks you can choose from.  I list all the Kona Cotton colors I used for each and every block. This is a huge time saver for you! It couldn't be easier to make your own Minecraft quilt.

Simple Table Runners

I received a custom order for these table runners last week. I was excited that they would be so easy to piece together and that she was sending me the fabric to make them. They are a surprise for her mother.  How sweet!

I found a cream colored fabric to put on the back of them. It's nice to finally have a finish to share! I have a lot of tops completed and hanging out on the railing.  They shall be completed soon!

Regatta QAL - Fabrics

The Regatta QAL has started and I'm moving a bit slow. Not my usual speed!  Good thing there is no dates set for completion. I like this pattern so much, I decided to make two. Maybe I shouldn't since I seem to be so busy at the moment, but they will get done!

First is my favorite in shades of gray blues and greens. I loved the original Regatta quilt made by Daniela at Block M Quilt so I decided to make one with all the shades of Kona that I could find. Hope it turns out as good as hers!

For the second one, I wanted something more colorful. But I had said I wouldn't do a rainbow...
This one reminds me of spring on a cloudy day. A half a rainbow isn't really a rainbow, right? Plus is will be fun to see this quilt with a different background color.

I am excited to get my cutting finished so I can get to sewing, but it's on the sidelines until next week.  I am really looking forward to seeing everyone's fabric selections. Such a great idea Roseanne!

Springtime Patchwork Quilt

 Here's a little springtime for you in the cold of winter! This quilt is made from Moda Summer Breeze IV layer cake. I love this pattern and I'm happy to keep making it.  When you make it from a layer cake all you need is 4 more squares and a half yard for the inner boarder to make the top.

And on another note I have most of my scraps cut and put away.  The prints are done, just need to finish the solids. It's been a while since I have taken time to do that. I usually cut and store my scraps after finishing three or four quilts or about once a month. That way they don't get out of hand!
