Leaf Table Runner

My daughter and I made a second fall table runner recently for our coffee table. We chose some rich fall leaf colored scraps for this one. I love these small projects for her (she's 12) because they are small enough for her to finish in a week or two and not get bogged down.

I did a simple quilting on it by a small meander on the leaves and X's on the border. I was going back and forth about adding more to the white part but I decided that less was more on this project.

I was hoping to get two Christmas runners done, but that didn't happen. So we'll have to move on to spring runners in the new year. December is such a busy time of year.

Pumpkin Table Runner

My daughter and I made this cute table runner for our new hallway table that we found at a garage sale recently. She picked the fabrics for it using mostly scraps. I sewed the HSTs and the leaf pieces and she did the rest of the top.

Then I surprised her and had her quilt it!  She is only 12 and has never used my longarm before. I got it all set up for her and taught her how to quilt a horizontal line with the locks. She did mostly random spacing but kept it about a quarter to three eights of an inch apart.

I finished our table runner with a cute orange polka dot print. Since these pictures have been taken, we've added some fall décor to the table. I love walking by it every day!

Jewel Tones Scrappy Quilt #1

This is the first jewel tone quilt made from the scraps in the photo below. I actually cut the scraps into 3 quilt kits. It's amazing how far scraps will go. This quilt is going to a friend of mine who loves red. The deep rich colors in this quilt are perfect for her! (and they go nicely in my living room, I was tempted to keep it!)

Here's the pile of scraps I pulled out a while ago. I used all three sizes of my scraps - 2.5" squares, 5" squares, and 2.5" strips. This is enough for 3 quilts and then some. I still have quite a bit left over in a bin. When I finish the next 2 quilts, I will see if there is enough for another quilt. Such a rich, deep beautiful rainbow of fabrics!

Sunshine Quilt Pattern

60 x 72

Here's a new pattern called Sunshine that I recently finished. This one is the throw size and I love how the stars in this version look like the sun. You can find the pattern here. It comes in 5 sizes from baby to king. There's a sample baby size below.

I had some fun trying out some different colors for this pattern. I'm partial to blue, but the yellow and green one reminds me of summer citrus.

Hopefully you see a version that you like. You can grab your pattern here and make one this week!

Love Strings Quilt Pattern

56" x 72"

I called this pattern Love Strings because of the little blue squares make up the hearts and the green is the connecting strings. I originally designed it in red and black which you can see below which would be perfect for a February quilt. Since it's summer time, I went ahead and make it in turquoise and lime green which is one of my favorite color combos.

I have been wanting to make a quilt with a checkered background for quite some time. It just took a while to find the right pattern to put it with. Check out the red and black version and the red and teal version.

How about a monochromatic version? This one has beautiful green blue shades.

a three color version

This baby version is oh so soft looking in pinks and grays.

You can find my new Love Strings pattern in my etsy shop. It comes in 5 sizes from baby to king. Which version do you like the best?
