I used the picture from this post to figure out the 3 different blocks. I didn't take a picture for you though. I get to sewing and forget about blogging stuff a lot! But the blocks are 10", 8" and 8x10".
I quilted this with the clear monopoly thread because I didn't want a dark thread on the floral print or a light thread on the maroon fabric. I didn't have a mauve thread either. What would you quilt this with? Got the rest of the floral on the back which was my goal! Use it all up!

It has an antique feel and is beautiful! Great block figuring! It can be a stretch to envision a quilt with different sized blocks. I've got one in the making for you!
ReplyDeleteGreat job matching colours! I can see how that floral would be hard to use, but this quilt turned out gorgeous! Thanks for linking with TGIFF :)
ReplyDeleteNice! I can see the mauve in the floral print from your photos. You found some great fabrics to tame it and use it up. :) Interesting twist on an irish chain, too - I like it!
ReplyDeleteWay to use up fabric from your stash. I think the coordinating fabrics you found work really well. And when I don't know what thread to use for quilting, I often find a grey will blend well.
ReplyDeleteYou did an awesome job in the search, those look perfect together, feels so good to use what we have!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful. It looks like the fabrics were always meant to be together. I would have had a hard time figuring out the thread color too.
ReplyDeleteI think I've have done the same and used a clear thread also. Anything else would show. Like everyone else, I agree that you definitely did a great job finding coordinating fabrics. I love Irish Chain quilts. The pattern is interesting and lends itself to both small and large print fabrics.
